A Little About us...
My name is Cindy and I am owner/breeder/handler of my dogs here at Marcindox Miniature Dachshunds. I am very proud of my dogs and their accomplishments. My daughter, Rachel, and I enjoy showing our dachshunds in conformation events that are licensed by AKC, the American Kennel Club. Most people know who AKC is but just in case you don't, it is a kennel club that is one of the main registries in the United States, who register millions of dogs each year. All of our dogs here are registered through this kennel club. If you would like to visit their home page for more information on registration, conformation events, field trials, or just owning a dog, visit my Link Page for their link. I am sure you will enjoy it and find a lot of useful information there. You may even find something there that is fun and enjoyable to do with your dog.
Back to us....
We are a small kennel located in beautiful southern Indiana. The area I live in is very hilly which is great for muscle tone in my dogs. I home raise my dogs which means I do not keep them in an outside kennel, they are actually in our home. Puppies are raised indoors with us as well. It makes for a more rounded puppy that will adjust well socially and emotionally.
I don't have litters very often, maybe one or two a year. I don't breed for quantity, I breed for quality. Whenever I do plan a litter, I take pride in breeding for temperment. I feel that it is the utmost important feature in a well-rounded dog. Afterall, doesn't everyone want a loving companion first? Not all puppies grow up to be show quality so it is most important that the ones who will go to forever homes be well socialized and cared for.
The ones who do finish I keep for breeding to improve my lines. I then concentrate on conformation so that I can strive to produce the best possible dog for the show ring.
I am also very careful about who my dogs get adopted too. I try very hard to place them with the best possible fit. I do not knowingly sell to puppy mills, brokers, or pet stores. I am a Proud Member of the National Miniature Dachshund Club and abide by their Bylaws and Code of Ethics. If you click on the image it will take you to their homepage where you can read more about our club for the Miniature Dachshund.
